The Raga Project

The Raga Project (working title) is a 24-hour audio collage that will be pressed to 48 LPs to be presented as a performative installation. The piece will also live online as a generative sound composition. 

Inspired by the structure of Classical Indian ragas, where different compositions were meant to be presented at specific times of day, the piece uses a continuous, locally-specific 24-hour cycle to incorporate psychoacoustic binaural audio, The Schumann Resonance, crowd-sourced messages of people describing their surroundings, recordings of clandestine numbers stations, traditional Mongolian throat singing, analog and digital synthesizer recordings and more.
