About this Series: Derived from my "pointpiece" series, this new work takes the concept of drawing meticulous dots on paper into the realm of paint on canvas. Each layer develops a unique pattern that is both random and controlled. This contradiction creates a visual order through what appears at first to be chaos. Additionally there is an intended visual pun related to the old "color blind" tests which used images set in different colored circles. In this version, however, there is only an abstract landscape meant for a more subdued and extended contemplation of form and formlessness. |
