Just Launched: Whitney Digital Media launched “goodmorning goodnight,” a new Sunrise/Sunset Artport commission by ‘net art pioneers JODI (a.k.a. jodi.org, a.k.a. Joan Heemskerk and Dirk Paesmans) today at 5:52 pm (a.k.a. sunset in New York City). Sunrise/Sunset was initiated with the re-launch of whitney.org in 2009; the website, a modular wiki site, literally shifts from white to black as the sun rises and sets each day. (To be clear: this means that one must be looking at the website at either sunrise or sunset in order to see JODI’s intervention, which lasts exactly thirty seconds.)
