Someone got his hand in the Beatles multitrack cookie jar…

***

I was six. Last day of summer camp. I somehow managed to forget every single one of my nine Beatles tapes there. I brought them like other kids might have brought their most cherished possession. Like a new slap bracelet or whatever. My older brother or father had copied them to cassette from vinyl for me… For whatever reason I never had copies again, and slowly built my Beatles collection back up over time. My very first CD purchase was Abbey Road…

Also something about light cones. I was obsessed with them for a while in high school. The way the guitar and vocals travel both forward and backward at the same time.

Constantly racing towards death; constantly racing towards life…

A sound installation in complete darkness, where you wander around finding headphones dangling from the ceiling, each pair with a different part of the Abbey Road medley. Eventually they are all out of sync… The floor vibrates on a subtle bass octave. The entrances/exits are a series of doors in concentric, revolving rings. Like some sort of Höller/Marclay bastard love child…
